AAA Mid-Atlantic is offering a variety of health plans to individuals and families by teaming up with Independence Blue Cross (IBC). The plans will be available to to AAA members and live in southeastern Pennsylvania. This insurer, out of Philadelphia, currently has 13 medically underwritten HMO and PPO plan options available to consumers. Through this unique partnership, AAA Mid-Atlantic members who buy an IBC individual health plan will have free access to health services made available from Blue Bell, PA based Health Advocate. Health Advocate will provide support by helping individuals with questions about a variety of health services and health insurance options. They serve about 25 million members across the nation through 8200 client relationships according to John Georges article (Ubezpieczenie Olsztyn). The vice-president for financial services at AAA Mid-Atlantic, Andy Zalescik, points out that the alliance with IBC is part of their strategy to expand the health care products and services to their customers. He believes members demand a very high level of services and this partnership expands their options which is in everyones best interest.
